Welcome! If you have come to this page you have taken a first step in learning more about the Catholic Church and with God’s grace becoming a member of the Catholic Church.
Being Catholic is not so much a destination as it is a journey, a lifelong journey, toward salvation through our Lord, Jesus Christ. The Lord Jesus founded the Church (See Matthew 16:18). Beginning with the Apostles and continuing down to our day, the Church continues to preach the Good News of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28: 18-20). The Lord remains with us through his Church. Everyone is invited to participate in the Church and join in its mission.
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (often abbreviated RCIA) is the process through which interested adults are gradually introduced to the Catholic faith. It is the beginning step to a journey of faith and a relationship with our Lord and his Church.
Fill out the form here, call the rectory or email rcia@sjbstl.org if you are interesting in learing more about becoming Catholic or joining the RCIA program.
Did you go through RCIA at St. John’s? You are an RCIA alum then! Want to join us as we support current catechumens and RCIA candidates and continue to learn about the faith? Fill out this form with your feedback and we will get in touch with you!

In anticipation of celebrating of our 100th year anniversary, St. John the Baptist Parish & School is preparing to construct a ten year strategic plan for our parish, school and church. With the help of Ray Duffy, a consultant to the Archdiocese of St. Louis, we have identified several areas to assist with this planning process. Among these areas for example are restoration and use of buildings and outreach programs to increase parish membership.
The members of the parish council and finance committees believe we have many great talents and resources within the St. John the Baptist family of parishioners and alumni. We invite you to come find out more about getting involved, as we will need all sorts of skill sets to complete these tasks successfully.
We will be hosting a kick off meeting on Tuesday, September 7th at 7:00 PM in the St. John the Baptist Elementary School Cafeteria at to explain more about each of the tasks and goals, as well as how to get involved. We wanted to personally invite you to attend this meeting. You will learn more about the efforts to ensure that the plan for the campus and church at St. John the Baptist will meet our present and future needs. Please feel free to invite family members, fellow parishioners, or alumni that you believe would be helpful in this mission to the meeting .
Thanks again for your consideration. We hope to see you on the 7th of September! If you have any further questions, give me a call at the rectory.
Blessings! Fr. Rich
