“Shopping certificates are available in the back of church!”

Yes, we all are familiar with this standard announcement each week. But in reality, our parish could benefit more from the Together We’re Better program.

Many of the participating stores and restaurants now issue a plastic gift card which makes it easier to keep in your wallet. And like the certificates, you do NOT have to spend the entire amount in one visit!

The Finance Committee is asking that all parish and school households renew their effort to purchase certificates each month. Our goal is to generate $1,000 per month from this fundraiser. We can do this if each household purchases $100 (or more) in certificates each month.

Where do you buy your prescriptions? We have Dierberg’s, Shop ‘n Save, Walgreens and Wal-Mart certificates which can be purchased and used for any items, including prescriptions, at these stores. Again, if you do not spend the entire amount, the balance remains on the certificate or card.

Do you regularly shop at Schnucks? Please sign up for their e-script program and designate St. John’s Elementary School as your choice. This program credits a percentage of your purchases to our school. Information and a sign-up will be available here at St. John’s in the next few weeks.

Will you be taking Mom to Chris’s restaurant on Mother’s Day? We have $10 certificates on hand for Chris’s.

Please check out all of the listings on the order form and make an order every month to help our parish. Download an order form here or you can always click on the Shopping Certificates Order Form link on the right hand side of the main page at www.sjbstl.org  under SJB Parish Links.

Fill out the form and return to the rectory or to the shopping certificate table after Mass.Payment for certificates should be submitted with the order and you can request pick-up the following Sunday (in the back of Church) or at the rectory. Certificate orders are generally filled within five to seven days from the time they are ordered.

Give an order form to your friends and neighbors and invite them to make an order because “together we’re better.”

Thank you for your continued generosity and support.
